DUTY POSITION: Facility Security Officer.  SSU is seeking an experienced facility security officer to perform a variety of sensitive, technical and administrative activities in support of SSU's security program.  A successful candidate has knowledge of basic principles, regulations, and practices for FSOs, can organize and prioritize work loads in order to coordinate several activities and meet critical deadlines, and interpret and apply regulations to complex situations.  Incumbent must be discreet and maintain confidentiality of employee data.  The incumbent must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral communication.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Initiate, maintain, and monitor employee and visitor security clearances
• Maintain and organize sensitive information and files, to include employee personnel security records, JPAS information, ACAVS database, and all other clearance related information
• Assist in researching/assembling information for classification purposes and maintaining classification plans
• Initiate and respond to classification studies and employee clearance verification
• Provide intelligence targeting support products and “reach-back” support to forward-deployed elements as required

• 2-5 years of administrative support experience preferred, specifically in the Facility Security area with demonstrated presence of continually increasing responsibilities in previous positions
• Must be able to qualify for a Secret security clearance 
• Bachelor of Science or Arts degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Accounting, IS/IT or a related field is preferred, but may be substituted for experience directly relating to the job position
