LOCATION: Augusta, GA (Fort Gordon)

DUTY POSITION:  Data Center Planner.  SSU is in search of an Enterprise Engineer to provide visionary and transformational insight into engineering a next-generation data center.  Incumbent must have the technical understanding to facilitate high level discussions on such things such as rack design, cooling techniques, data center power requirements and system monitoring.  A successful candidate has an advanced knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, multicast, routing, address translation, security solutions and SAN fabrics design.  Experience in all aspect of IT, cabling, networks, and engineering project management is helpful.  Knowledge of Blades Servers and SAN Storage (IBM), Brocade Switches and Cisco network gear is also a plus. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist and direct the creation and maintenance of a next-generation data center 
• Identify, develop, and implement mitigation plans in collaboration with the customer to address governance issues
• Independently process and overcome hurdles that may impede implementation of efficient and enterprise-wide solutions
  

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required
• A Master's Degree from an accredited institution in an area applicable to this position is preferred
• An additional 3 years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
• An additional 2 years of technical experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree, with a minimum of a total of 10 years of technical experience
• An applicable Industry-recognized technical certification is required
