Business Development Associate

DUTY POSITION: Business Development Associate. SSU is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to join our team of professionals in Fayetteville, NC. As a Business Development Associate, you will perform business development tasks such as opportunity identification, capture management, proposal writing, research and analysis, and assistance with strategy, operations, and other business development related activities as identified. You will serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries, general Business Development correspondence, and support technical and pricing data efforts, The Business Development Associate will work for the Director of Business Development.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Work as part of a team to formulate capture strategies based on customer needs.
  • Successful candidate will identify business opportunities and establish the strategy for capturing those opportunities.
  • Responsibilities will include analyzing market data, funding profiles, and technical expectations for new business opportunities.
  • Identify and implement business development projects relating to new products and/or industries, technologies, or services.
  • Identify markets, licensing opportunities, and determine the feasibility of business development.
  • As a Business Development Associate, additional responsibilities will include: Non-Disclosure Agreements; Consultant agreements; Teaming Agreements; and compiling, formatting, editing, and revising recurrent reports.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills are a must.

Desired Professional Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 0-3 years of Business Development experience or an MBA.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong planning, organizational, project management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
